Homeowner Settles Her Negligence Claim Against Cleaning Company for $2 Million
In August 2009 plaintiff hired Service Master Clean to remediate her basement following a flood. During the work workers dropped a box full of glassware scattering glass all over the basement floor. Defendants assured plaintiff that they would clean up the breakage and the floor would be as if it was new.
Days later plaintiff went down to the basement for beach towels when she stepped on pieces of glass that went in her foot. Surgery was required to remove the glass and plaintiff later became debilitated and failed all forms of conservative treatment developing Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome (C.R.P.S a/k/a R.S.D), an extremely painful and debilitating neurologic condition which presently has no known cure.
