$700,000.00 for Motorcyclist struck by car
A Piscataway man was injured when his motorcycle was struck by a car accepted $700,000.00 last Tuesday to settle his Middlesex County suit. Plaintiffs motorcycle was struck on August 11, 2010 when the car moved from the right lane to the left to make a U-turn says his attorney Gregory A. Stathis, Esq. of Stathis & Leonardis in Edison.
The car hit the back of the motorcycle leaving Plaintiff to lose control, and be thrown about 20 feet. Plaintiff suffered a broken right leg, a broken left ankle, and had severe cut to his right knee. He underwent surgery to insert a rod and screws in his right leg and screws in his left ankle. Mr. Stathis says that Plaintiff had hoped to become a police officer but because of the limited use of his leg has accepted a job as a dispatcher. The car's driver, Catarina Neto, 20 of Bridgewater was covered by 2 polices:
1. A $500,000.00 limit with High Point and an excess policy with Franklin Mutual Insurance Company.
High Point after paying $10,000.00 in medical expenses incurred by Mr. Myzie will contribute $490,000.00 toward the settlement while Franklin Mutual will pay $210,000.00 says Mr. Stathis.
